The number 44

is a very important number in our house. It has been worn by every Sanders boy in Adam's family. Right now the luck man is Uncle Pete. Reece totally loves Pete and football which means we talk about it alot! 44 was the first number Reece could pick out and write. This past weekend was a white out game so Gram made shirts for Reece and baby Truss to wear at the game. I just love this picture. If only Reece was this tender to his baby sister! Go Uncle Pete!

Mariemma's new trick!

Mariemma discovered a new toy yesterday. She laughed and laughed at it--of course my camera did something funny so the original video is lost but she did recreate the event this morning. The laugh is not as good as the frist time but she was really cute anyway!

The results are in...

Adam past the Alabama Bar! We are so proud of him! I just wish we could be together to celebrate!

Ice cream for no reason at all!

Our dear friends John and Merle treated us to a self serve frozen yogurt shop on Wednesday. I knew Reece would totally love picking out his toppings. Both children were in rare form--they played a great game of copy cat which kept us very entertained. We had a great time with our friends!

Reece loves to hear John's pocket watch tick.

Look what I got!!!!

Reece's first trip to the dentist

The really cool fish tank--it had Nemo and his daddy in it.
The treasure tower--and yes baby sleepies had his teeth cleaned as well!

Look at my really clean teeth!

Miss Dot cleaned Reece's teeth--he called her a monster stranger when she put her mask on:) Out of all the tooth paste flavors he picked cookie dough. He also liked wearing the Ligthing McQueen sunglasses.

We have been talking about it all last week--and the day is finally here. Reece went to the Dentist today. He did excellent! He was a little nervous when the chair went back and only opened his mouth wide enough for them to get the "tooth counter" in. But that was much better than the children in the next room who screamed the whole time! He loved the fish and the treasure tower (he received a token at the end to put in the machine to get out a prize). Many people have admired how close together Reece's baby teeth are but luck for them they dont have to floss! We have been home for about 2 hours and Reece has already brushed his teeth. He told me it was the only way to keep them from falling out!

Family Day

Grandpa--are those real guns?!

Reece wanted a football on one cheek, a goal post on the other, and a rocket on his arm! He has come a long way from last football season when he screamed after we put a Furman diamond F on his cheek.

He loved the slide on the air bounce.

Reece went straight to the food table.

Today was Family Day for Adam's battery. My mom and dad came to help me with the kids. Reece had a great time--although he was surprisingly disinteresed in the military equipment. The air bounce and face paint were a big hit. Mariemma was a trooper--she made it in the heat with little food and no nap. Reece really missed Adam. He told me as we were leaving "We really needed our Marine to be here." Here are a few pics from the day.

R U ready for some football

It is football time in the Sanders' house. Reece loves to wear his Furman football jersey and helment, pretending to be Uncle Pete Sanders! In fact I have started to let him wear it two days in a row just to spare the laundry! Aunt Hannah is in town for a visit and Samford had an unusual Thursday night game. We enjoyed being out for the evening. Mariemma loved her first football game and Reece loved the Bulldog.

laughing baby

Mariemma is a tough laugh. She has to really be tickled to give a good belly laugh. I tried my best to get a good one today. Enjoy!

Just a normal day

I love how she stands on one knee
Reece was playing football--this is ME's touchdown pose!

Reece was really excited Grandad suprised us for my birthday.

I just loved this one!

Since Adam will be checking the blog for a glimpse into our days back home I wanted to add a few pictures from the last few days. Mariemma is just about to start standing on her own. When I take a picture of ME I must also take one of Reece--which leads to a few interesting photos.

Adam's first triathlon!

Adam has always looked for a physical challenge and this year he decided to take on a triathlon--with only three weeks of training! The Army base in Huntsville host a triathlon and many marines in Adam's unit work the event and collect Toys for Tots. I was a little nervous for Adam to swim so far in the TN river but he had no doubts about it. The kids were great--we stood in the misting rain for five hours. All the events kept the children entertained. Reece was very sad he could not ride his bike with Adam during the race. Adam's goal was 3 hours--he finished just shy of that at 3 hours 15 mins. We are so proud of him! Here is is video of Adam coming out of the bike transition and into the run.

Take me out to the ball game...

Reece has a new love for baseball. More pics to follow but here is a video from a few weeks ago. Enjoy! The best part is when he runs the bases!

A second attempt

I must confess I loved the idea of keeping a blog but fell way short of maintaining a blog. Here is to second chances! The year ahead holds so many unknowns we felt like it would be helpful for all our friends and family if we kept a blog and updated it! So I thought it would be fitting to put a few pics of our "little one" on the blog and R too--since the last ones were from his second birthday! I am also going to try to put a video on. Hope to hear from you soon.
